The ‘Criminal Minds’ actor pays tribute to his late mother Marylin who died after years of battling multiple sclerosis, calling her his ‘best friend’ and ‘partner in crime.’
Shemar Moore is grieving over the death of his mother Marylin. In a video message posted on Instagram, the “S.W.A.T.” actor choked back tears as he announced his mom’s passing to his online followers.
“This is real life,” he began the video with shaky voice. “Your baby boy is okay, but I’m hurting real bad.” Overcome with emotions, the 49-year-old star continued, “It’s not a game. It’s not a joke. I’m hurting real bad.”
“I’ve been offline for some weeks, now. I’ve had to keep a secret out of respect to my mom. Ten days ago on February 8, 2020, my mother, Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore passed away. Trust me. I know,” he revealed as he got teary eyes.
“My partner in crime, Shemar’s mother. She’s gone. This is not a game. This is my whole life, everything I’ve ever known,” he said. “I stay stunned. I am heartbroken. I don’t know life without this woman. I don’t know what to do but I will figure it out because that’s what she would want.”
On his caption, he added, “I miss her more than I ever thought possible and I don’t know how to do this life without her …. but I get my STRENGTH from her and I will be OK because of HER.” He continued, “It was too soon …. and it hurts so bad…. but I know you are with me and will continue to give me strength… I love you mama.”
Marylin had battled multiple sclerosis for years before her death. Shemar once said, “My love for my mom is real and I want her to beat this damn thing. She’s my Super Woman and she needs to know that someone is out there fighting for her at all times.”
